    Default You little @#$%^ :-( !

The Glock striker spring is captured by two identical "spring cups". Measuring .055" by .100" each, the little bastards are diabolic in their ability to stretch the time they can aggravate and agitate a kitchen table armorer.

Installing the cups (similar to keepers on an automotive valve spring) requires compressing the spring enough to gain the clearance required to slip in the cups. The cups can only be installed one at a time, of course. Having installed one, inserting the second one sets the stage for launch of the first.

Cheapest source I found for these expensive little pieces of black plastic is free delivery by Amazon Prime. Meanwhile, the gun is out of commission, so occasional continuous search of the area occupies some of the waiting for delivery.

Delivery accomplished, gun reassembled, the one that had flown to God knows where now re-appears, on the floor a half-inch from the runner rug, a spot definitely searched before. It had hidden amidst the busy oriental pattern of the carpet for several days, waiting for me to no longer need it, the little @#$%^ :-( !

There are two kinds of guns. Those I have acquired, and those I hope to.

Yep. I'm at a half-dozen in stock now. I made up a tool to maintain control of the spring when compressed. End of problem. Thanks for the offer, Daycrawler. And the shower idea is a hoot! LOL.

Since buying them at $7-something a pair, I discovered them available for $3.99 a pair. 'course, shipping may be ridiculous, didn't investigate.... https://www.combatarmory.com/firing-pin-spring-cups/

Trick to this is to insert the striker into the slide backwards so you can compress the spring, get one side in the back, let up on tension a bit while holding the first one with fingertip, then recompress and install second one. Takes 30 seconds this way.
