Thompson 1927A1 pistol
Do I want one? I can get one in perfect condition with stick mag, drum mag, violin case, etc. For around $1,350. But do I want it? Anyone own or know any good/bad about them? (this isn't it, photo is from GB just using for reference)
I was intrigued to find braces for them available too - that would be an interesting addition.

If it comes with the violin gun case I suppose it will be something to fiddle around with.

Ummm, hell yes? I havent been able to justify one YET...but that's a big yet. I slightly regret not buying one for $1,000 or $1,100 the other year, but it was the blacked out one with no extras, and I wasnt after that version so much.

Re: Thompson 1927A1 pistol
I had one of these several years ago (rifle version). right out of the box it had in the white spots on the barrel from the blued finish rubbing off in the box. I sent it back to the company to have it refinished. They had it for 3 months and after many calls no one knew where it was. then an employee told me it was lost in the factory. then they told me they knew where it was and they were going to rebarrel it in 4-6 more weeks. I got kind of pissed at this point and they sent me the deluxe model instead of the M1 model I had sent back to them. Got it back finally and took it to the range. on the second magazine, the bolt broke and the extractor sheared off. SUPER PISSED at this point so I said the hell with it and sold it for less than half I paid. I never had anymore interest in getting another one.
