Good article and a good outcome! The article show the grief a person might have after legally shooting a bad guy. He would have more grief if he did nothing and his son was killed or injured because of it!

' Thank the Maker ', the Barber and his son are still alive ... and I give him 2 thumbs up for Quick Witted Reaction.

Don't be surprised if you read of his Barber shop suddenly fire bombed by the Dirt Bags Buddies.

"Vanore said a loaded 9mm Taurus pistol used by the robbery suspect was found at the scene. The weapon had previously been reported stolen."

OK, so mandatory reporting of gun thefts would have made this story different.....how?

The barber is a heck of a guy. He gave the 19 yo every chance in the world, even put himself at risk.

It is difficult trying to understand the last phase of the robbery, but it seems the suspect left and came back still armed. I think I would immediately drop them without warning as they pulled a weapon and made threats etc just prior.

Sounds like he grappled with him and the suspect attempted to point his firearm at his side/back from a close distance. Of course, probably took all of 1 second.

I wonder at what point the barber was armed and then at what point it was in his hand?
