A tip for you if you are in a county where you are to call in the night before: Check the call in number on Friday, or in this case if the courthouse is closed for Thanksgiving, maybe even Wednesday. It has worked here in Lehigh county several times.
Nice to know the answer ASAP...

Thanks for the tip. I'll try it. I figure with Thanksgiving and racist Friday, they will be calling all the standbys for starting back up on Monday.

My daughter just finished a 6 month stint on a county grand jury in MD. Yesterday was her last day and lo and behold they were dismissed without hearing any cases. The last time a court system was operational close to a holiday was probably the one that decided that Kris Kringle was in fact the one true Santa Claus.

I get out of jury duty because of my job. Once I retire, tho...

I don’t know how the County selects jurors – DL licenses and/or voter registration - but two of my neighbors sent in the form for the tax reduction and almost immediately received jury duty notices. Perhaps a coincidence, perhaps not. Nevertheless, I never sent in my form because I wasn’t taking a chance for a mere 175 bucks.

But you can be excused from jury duty if 70 years old. I’ll be 70 in 3+ weeks and will be sending in my form. Afterall, that will buy me seven 30 packs of Coors.

Maybe I should have posted this in the what made you smile thread. Yesterday I received the confirmation letter that I was approved for the 50% senior citizen property tax reduction starting in 2023. Getting old sucks sometimes but it also has some advantages.
