All it would take is taking some media to the range for a practice session. Give them a 15-round magazine with a standard pistol and see how quick they run out of bullets. For a complete amateur shooting 1 round every 2 seconds means that magazine is empty in 30 seconds and that's shooting freaking SLOW. At that rate 10 magazines for a total of 150 rounds equals 5 minutes worth of actual shooting practice.

Granted most people are going to check shot groups and make adjustments so 150 rounds might last 30 minutes or so, if they saw how quick it's used up maybe they'd change their tune a little bit.

That assumes the media has some actual interest in reporting facts and the state of firearm ownership accurately. They don’t.
Their interest lies in working both sides against the middle.

.Gov and politicians in general would prefer us disarmed because they know what they plan for us will get them shot. That includes big R party, btw.
