Re: Economic crunch starting to hit home
I know what you mean. I'm earning $5k less than I did last year and $18k less than I did 3 years ago.........
Living paycheck to paycheck for a while now. Maybe I shouldn't have bought all those firearms........

Re: Economic crunch starting to hit home
Our company (cant say who) let go like 25% of our personnel last week. Sucks really bad, lost a great friend in the office (though we're still friends out of the office).

Re: Economic crunch starting to hit home
I saw this coming and because of it I went though my company and cut every unnecessary expense. Also increased my budget on advertising and marketing. Me, I ended up increasing my take home and not one employee got cut or a cut in pay. So far so good sales have not dropped and with the small changes economizing the company I now have a buffer if things do slow down. It is just too hard to get quality employees and I hate losing employees. The little things add up so there really are things any company can do to find waste and inefficiency.
All in all I cut out almost $2K a month in waste and inefficiency.
Every company has it but most people in management are too lazy to find it.Last edited by ALS; November 18th, 2008 at 08:52 AM.

The company I work for announced today that they are selling their corporate jet. You know times are tough when the executives have to fly first class instead of private jets.

Re: Economic crunch starting to hit home
I know what ya mean, I got laid of in Sept. myself. The way it looks I will end up taking a job that pays 45% of what I was making. Sucks BIG time. I havn't been able to find anything that even pays what I get on unemployment.
