Suppose you wanted to blow $2k on a high quality hammer fired 1911 or 2011 style pistol. It would rarely be carried in lieu of a plastic fantastic just for practicality reasons. It would be used for occasional competitions and a fair amount of range blasting. Mostly it would be to admire fine craftsmanship.

The options are:

1) Les Baer Custom Carry 5" 45ACP for $2350 OTD

Conway was the man! I heard he sold more albums than Slim Whitman, who sold more than Zamfir and the Beetles. Combined!

But my vote for a $2000 1911 would buy two $1000 1911's or a $1300 1911 and a $700 old school S&W revolver or a fill in the blank. If you are a top competitive shooter buy a 1911 race gun but it will probably cost you more.

While it may not be hammer fired, the H&K Mark 23 would be about the only single handgun that I would be willing to spend that kind of money on.

Yesterday, the wife and I are rolling through Texas, on a dirt road, looking for a RoadRunner for her to take a pic of. Running WAYlow on gas. I*m praying I don*t run out, when I crest a hill and see a simple sign. *Luckenbach*. Holy crap, we stumbled across Luckenbach!!!!
Wife is unimpressed. So? I explain. Still not impressed. I YouTube the song. Ok, it*s got a song. We stop. I got the shirt, the bumper stickers, souvenirs galore!!!

Why not a cz tac sport or similar. Keep in mind a staccato is really the entry level to the 2011 platform.
