    Default AR-10 Battle Rifle Optic

So I dug my half finished AR10 build out of the closet with the intent to finish it up. My big hold up is an optic. I'm not sure what to put on it. Now you might say "KP you forgetful idiot, you already posted this same shit a few years ago." I know, but given that LVPO's weren't really that prevalent then I figured a new thread was in order.

I'd like the ability to have quick acquisition at close range but also be able to make hits out to about 700 yards or so. This will be on a 16 in AR10 with a mid-length gas system shooting M80 ball. I have a few contenders/ideas but wanted the braintrust's input. I'd like to keep it around $1k or so. I won't bitch if it's $1200, but I will if it's $2200.

EDIT: I was leaning heavily towards the Vortex Razor HD, but now I'm thinking about the TA110 since the BDC is made for 762. The only downside is the magnification is a little too light for 700 yards - at least for my shitty eyes.

All good choices. I was on a budget and decided on the Vortex Strike Eagle Gen 3 1x8. I'm happy with it. Only had it out a few times and longest range yet was 400 yards. I think it's nice glass for the money.
    Good luck with your choice,

Maybe a Primary Arms GLx 2.5-10x44FFP Rifle Scope. I really like Primary arms scopes and they seem to hold good value at all price points. The real magic is in their reticles.

They are usually a good value, but I find most of their reticles to be WAY too cluttered. I don't need 800 windage holds.

I chose the Vortex Strike Eagle. I'm not dropping $1,500-$2,000 on a battle rifle optic. A bolt gun? Sure. The biggest issue for me was the ability to go from what is basically a red dot, to a magnified optic, quickly. Also priced so I don't mind playing hard with it.

All this to say, if you are a lucky enough guy that a $1,800 optic is no big deal, by all means get the Razor.

I'd say ACOG to keep the weight down on an already heavier AR10. LPVOs can get heavy.

Not an AR-10, but I run a VCOG on my SCAR-17. It's heavy but bomb proof.
Don't wish ill for your enemies. Plan it.

Would be high on my list but it's a bit out of the price range.

I got tired of waiting for a sale and bought a Delta Optical Stryker HD 1-6. Made in the same factory as the Razor HD and Credo. All the reviews say it has nice glass and a nice bright dot. I might post some pics when it comes in.

You may want to consider the Vortex Strike Eagle 1-8x24mm. Not a bad price for a decent scope. Its around $300
