Default What charge for 38 spl, 158 LSWC using Unique

Trying to get a feel for what people are using on .38spl 158gr LSWC with Unique.

Alliant.com says 4.7gr (is that start or Max?)
handloads.com says start at 3.9 up to 4.3
My Lyman manual says start at 4.0 up to 4.5

    Thanks in advance!

The Alliant load is probably the max load (as compared to the others you listed).

I'd start at 4.2 and work up from there always checking the accuracy and watching for pressure signs. Some guns like certain loads, yours might shoot very well at the lower (or, might shoot better with a bit more). Find out what it likes and stick with that.

    For 38spl, I use W231. It's a great powder for the application.
