Default regular rifled slugs good for black bear?

Will a Remington 12ga slugger slug end a confrontation with a black bear quickly or do you have to move up to say a Brenneke Black magic.

I ran a black bear off by throwing a steel garbage can at it, so I assume any slug would work.

Slugs and 000 Buck are highly recommended in Alaska for grizzly...

I've seen cats and small dogs run-off black bear.

I like the Barnes solid copper Expanders. Shot a bear with one and it only made it 3 feet after the hit.

I ran off a huge black bear with two wash basins at my cabin. He went after our new grill. The smell of ribs brought him in. We got up from the picnic table would have let him eat the food on the table. When he went after the new grill, I started banging the basins together. Off he went.

Yes, an old school hollow body pure lead Foster /type slug can kill a bear. But there are so many upgraded slugs that perform better there is really no use in using them anymore.
