    Default Cominolli Glock Safety

That's right, the manual thumb safety kit for Glock pistols manufactured by Cominolli...

    - Does anyone here have one?
    - Has anyone here ever used one?
    - What are the highlights? The lowlights?
    - If you have one, would you do it again?

Just trying to collect experiences and opinions. I'd very much like to hear what you fine folks think of them. Thanks in advance.

    I don't know.

    N/A.

I now this isn't what you were looking for with respect to information but I think it's ill-advised to put a manual safety on a striker fired weapon with a passive internal safety system. It's your money.

True enough... but you do make up for it with the second part.

I'm not married to the idea. Hell, I'm not even leaning toward it at this point.
I just find it an intriguing concept and want to know more about it. Thanks.

You have a gun that functions perfectly as it is. It is safe, reliable and well made.

Adding 3rd party accessories to it such as safeties, new strikers, springs, trigger groups only gives you additional points of failure.

I have one on a g22 and it's been 100% reliable and works really well. There's nothing wrong with it and it works so well it doesn't even void your warranty.

If It's something you're interested in it's a quality part and not at all hard to install either. There are glock models with factory safeties sold in the European market, just not here.

I'm not a Glock fan at all, but I cant see what the problem is.

They dont need a safety.. Just keep your finger off the trigger or suffer the effects of a negligent discharge - its really that simple. You'll learn your lesson the first time you blow a .355", .400", or .451" hole in yourself.

So, I trust that neither of you has any first-hand experience with this product?

My 25 accident-free years as a shooter were luck. Anyway, I appreciate the input and look forward to first-hand accounts.

    Thank you.
    That product, no. Glocks yes.

Do they guaranty safety with that product? I mean, they are branding it as a safety - will they stand behind their product? Or how about infront of their product with their "safety" on? How tried and true is it?

Reason in part for my prior post is that I've seen a lot of fly-by-night companies sell some really gimmicky stuff over the years. If someone were to put their faith into a device like that and it were to fail while you were tempting fate by testing the product against your head - then what? Are they going to assume liability for blind faith?

I would never ever put an after market safety on a pistol designed with out said type of safety. IMO you start to compromise reliability, fewer moving parts means less shit to break. Not to mention you can trow a fully loaded Glock against a wall and all you will do is bust up your drywall. (please don't try that though)

they do stand behind it, as does glock. as do i.

It's a quality product and works well. tried and true.

I have noted a certain crowd of people , even when asked not to, will jump into a thread and shit all over whenever this product is mentioned. It never occurs to any of these folks that a safety on a firearm might be a good thing, particularly on a LE firearm that might be susceptible to a snatch or loss to a bad guy by other means.

having worked in that industry i will tell you that a safety can make the difference between life and death as a grabber will have to figure it out, numerous first hand accounts of real cops really experiencing this really found it to really be true............really.

arcana, if you feel a need for this item then you should buy it and install it, if you live in the Pittsburgh area i have the installation jig and will do the frame for you and save you a couple bucks.
