Bought a S&W 9 2.0 4.25 brand new a couple years ago and the serial# was almost impossible to read. The gun store guy had to get a maglifying glass to copy # on to the form. Think he guessed the numbers as it was unreadable. All my other guns have a very clear number. Guess I'm in the clear now.
