    Don't be naive.

EVERY government agency, regardless of who it is, ends up making politically decided decisions, based on which person is installed over the cabinet level seat presiding over that agency. At the moment, it appears that the FBI has it in for the parents of students and January 6 protesters. Under Trump, the Director of the USEPA arbitrarily reassigned EVERYONE in the agency to a position different from the one they had been working, many for decades. He arbitrarily neutered the agency by nullifying any depth of institutional knowledge on how to run the programs. The Postmaster General was installed to drive the USPS out of business, by making it completely ineffectual, the same as was done to the EPA.

Keep politics out of government and the checks and balances of rulemaking and court decisions will keep the wheel turning.

Something to consider, the FBI and DOJ was (illegally) after Trump even before he was POTUS. Do you think maybe that had something to do with it.

Years ago, the number of stolen cars in Philly, was making the "administration" look bad, SOOOO they came changed he definition of stolen car.
the new class was "try and locate".
If the was X number of years old and/ or wasn't insured against theft, it Wasn't Stolen, it was just Misplaced.

Recently read that roughly 50% of police departments are not doing/submitting their annual Uniform Crime Reports.
