"We must not let this travesty spawn oppression of any kind," Leake wrote. "I will never stop defending his legacy of radical justice, peace and equality."

Four young men got out, knocked him to the ground and beat him. They took his cell phone and fled right past a surveillance camera on that corner.

Days after Temple's police union reported that it's facing a staffing crisis that has impacted campus safety, university officials announced a number of safety enhancements in response to a spate of recent shootings. Temple University's police union this week said they are operating at 60% normal capacity and officers have had to work roughly 42 overtime shifts since last summer. On Monday, the union said on its Facebook page that it "cannot perform adequate community policing techniques that we have done in the past to reduce crime in the community."

The father of a Temple University sophomore who was beaten by a roving teen mob last week said people *should draw their own conclusions* about whether the string of attacks against students and cops was racially motivated. Joe Lauletta, 50, wrote on Facebook a day after the flash mob-style attacks that a group of 30 to 40 *black teenagers* assaulted his daughter, Christina, 19, and her two male friends on their way home from a Temple football game at Lincoln Financial Field on Friday.

Re: The Victims of Temple University
About two weeks ago a Temple Graduate was shot and killed near Drexels Campus. He was enrolling in a Masters Degree there. Video shows the suspect and him walking past each other, when without provocation, the suspect, described as a black male, turns and shoots him dead.
In subsequent articles his family (from Malvern I believe) talks about how proud he was to be involved with the Democrat Party.
