I don't think they're quite to the point of figuring out that the diversity hiring program is ineffective.

That story needs to be updated. Stolen car, four occupants, Polymer 80, ages 18 and under. And oh, self inflicted.

Is there a Criminal Code for "Suicidally Stupid"? Or is that just pre-implied?

Meanwhile, back on the main campus

In the 2021-22 academic year, up to 3,402 students enrolled in mental-health counseling services, with 687 citing that they were *in a crisis.* The latter figure was a 281% increase over the prior year, and this year*s numbers are similarly alarming.

*We are at 650 this year to date. That puts us on track to meet or exceed last year*s total,* said Mark Denys, the university*s associate vice provost for health and well-being.

Jude Chacko, despite doing a lot to be prepared, got surprised in one of Philly's seriously sketchy neighborhoods - not close to Temple, but here because he was a grad.

Jude Chacko, a Philadelphia resident and Temple University alumnus, died on Sunday, May 28. He was 21.
In addition to being active in the church, loved ones say Chacko had a passion for martial arts and went on to volunteer as an instructor after earning his black belt as a child.

It*s unclear what time the shooting took place near the 2700 block of Cumberland Street in Port Richmond due to a lack of witnesses and surveillance cameras in the area, but a pedestrian found Chacko on the ground a bit past 8 am Sunday morning, according to ABC News.

Twenty-one-year-old Jude Chacko is being remembered as a sweet and loving young man who was very involved in his local church community in the Bustleton section of Philadelphia. It was sometime during the overnight hours this past Saturday night leading into Sunday when someone approached Chacko and shot him in the forehead. It happened near the 2700 block of Cumberland Street in Port Richmond.

It's unclear what time the shooting took place due to a lack of witnesses and surveillance cameras in the area, but a pedestrian found the victim on the ground a bit past 8 a.m. Sunday morning. He was pronounced dead a few hours later at Temple University Hospital.

While it's unclear what he was doing the night he was murdered, authorities believe robbery was the motive. That's because his wallet and a firearm, for which he had a permit to carry, were both missing.

Luckily my daughter is now out of there. She moved out of her apartment the end of July and finished her research assistant job yesterday.

Here are some more "improvements" they are making.

As part of a reorganization, Temple’s Department of Public Safety introduces three new key roles

The deputy director of organizational affairs, director of tactics and professional development, and associate director of organization administration (HR) represent the first of several new positions that will be added to the Department of Public Safety in the coming months.

Over the last several months, Temple University’s Department of Public Safety has been completely reorganized to help increase professionalism, training and organizational development to better to serve both the Temple and North Philadelphia communities.

As part of this reorganization, Deputy Director of Organizational Affairs Michael Smith, Director of Tactics and Professional Development Chris Willard, and Associate Director of Organization Administration (HR) Amber James joined the department on June 5.

“Our reorganization has seen us revise the public safety organizational chart with a considerable expansion, allowing us to bring on 15 new strategic and tactical leadership and operational positions. These positions are key to optimizing the department to ensure that we’re aligned with the best practices seen in some of the top law enforcement agencies,” said Vice President for Public Safety Jennifer Griffin. “The deputy director of organizational affairs, director of tactics and professional development, and associate director of organization administration (HR) represent the first of these new positions, and we’re so excited that we have been able to bring on board individuals as talented as Michael, Chris and Amber.”
