    Subway hoagie shop ON campus robbed at gunpoint. These places on Liacouras Walk are mostly staffed by undergrads. My daughter worked at the Starbucks for a while when she was at Temple in the 2010's. I would not let her go to school there today.

    Philadelphia police have a person of interest in custody following a shooting that injured multiple people outside a hookah lounge near Temple University's campus.
    Investigators say the shooting happened before 3 a.m. Sunday outside of Hubble Bubble Hookah Lounge on the 1000 block of Diamond Street.

    The lounge is underneath an off-campus apartment building and across the street from the football team's practice facility.

    Officials say the man was getting kicked out of the hookah lounge by security when he pulled out his gun. The security guard on the scene shot him, hitting him on the left side.

    The man was able to fire his weapon and shoot three women inside the lounge. Police say all three are in stable condition, and none were students at Temple University.

    My oh my - per his social media, he is quite the Billy Badass.

    The Philadelphia District Attorney's Office said Eryk Leach-Gilliam is charged with aggravated assault and related offenses.

    Leach-Gilliam is a licensed gun owner and had no prior criminal history, the DA's Office said..

    A shame there isn't a way to investigate whether the applicant's character and reputation are such that the applicant will not be likely to act in a manner dangerous to public safety;

    Name threw me off for a hot minute. I should've guessed his ethnicity based on the fact that he managed to hit 3 uninvolved bystanders.

    "Exceptionally safe?"

    Fascinating.

    https://twitter.com/PhillyCrimeUpd/s...97642901757952

    This week at
    @TempleUniv
    we*ve been covering several stories of violent crime on campus to include:

    A group of juveniles shooting students with *pellet guns*

    Man w/ a gun enters Morgan Hall

    Critical stabbing outside Tyler Hall

    Quadruple shooting outside Edberg-Olson Hall

    Despite these crimes, VP of *Public Safety* Dr Griffin continues a PR media tour claiming that campus is *exceptionally safe*.

    Is this deliberate PR lies or should her competence of safety be questioned?

    So I guess he's from NJ and had a FID card? Maybe the DA ought to learn some PA terminology....
