    Followup announcement from Temple.

    ANNOUNCEMENT

TEMPLE MOURNS THE LOSS OF A TEMPLE UNIVERSITY POLICE OFFICER
    Posted Feb 19, 2023

    To the Temple community,

Earlier this morning, an 18-year-old person of interest was taken into custody in connection with last night’s tragic murder of a Temple University Police Officer. We can now share that Officer Christopher David Fitzgerald, hired on October 4, 2021, was shot while on duty and later pronounced dead at Temple University Hospital.

Officer Fitzgerald gave his life to selflessly serve and defend this community. The courage and bravery he displayed highlights the day-to-day sacrifice made by our Temple University Police Officers to keep our community safe. This loss leaves an enormous hole in all of our hearts. He was a father, a husband, a son, a colleague, and a friend.

We will share service details as soon as we have more information. In the meantime, we want to extend our deepest sympathies to Officer Fitzgerald’s family and friends, especially his wife, his four children, and his parents. He will be deeply missed.

    Sincerely,

    Jennifer D. Griffin
    Vice President for Public Safety

Definitely a BikeLife Culture type. The comments from the torches and pitchforks crowd are hilarious.

I am surprised his Instagram is still up. Some good photos there.

I clicked it and it said that it's marked private. I guess I missed the boat.

9/ *Additional information was later received that Miles Pfeffer was later picked up by his mother JMP at 29th Street & Ridge Avenue, & driven out to their home on Quarry Road in Buckingham.* According to affadavit of probable cause. @FOX29philly" / Twitter
Correct about his mother. The car he jacked was after the shooting. There is some other info I won*t divulge until the media reports it.

But he was never going to get away with it. He should have just taken a gun pinch, but this guy had some evil in him. Which is interesting because his family life seemed to be good. He apparently was a wanna be gangster and probably knew to commit his crimes in Philly.

I am waiting to hear a defense. I am sure his family will get some good lawyers. At first I was thinking self defense. But the dynamics don*t fit the current narrative.

“Officer Fitzgerald’s life was ripped from him and his loved ones violently and senselessly,” Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner said in a news release. “As the DA’s Homicide Unit begins the work of holding Miles Pfeffer accountable for his alleged crimes, our Victims Services team will also be extending loving support to Officer Fitzgerald’s family and loved ones.”

Krasner called on state and federal lawmakers to take swift action regarding the “obscene supply and availability” of guns in Pennsylvania communities.

Why, he takes no action either. A VUFA in Philadelphia is less of an issue than a red light camera ticket.
