There are different caliber AR*s which would take different mags, but I don*t think that is what you are asking about.
    Got it, thank you.

Best bang for your buck is a PSA CHF Premium with the enhanced trigger.

The rifle kit minus the receiver is an even better deal but I assume we're talking about complete rifles here.

I've seen the rifles in the $600s and the kits in the $400s. I don't think anything beats them for that price.

I'm actually surprised we haven't gone down the "Build your own!" rabbit hole yet.

You have a lot of options for what you are looking for. Ruger and Smith and Wesson both have good budget options. they are brand names and both are worthy considerations as low cost, decent quality ar*s. I do own one of each and enjoy shooting them both.

PSA has a Ruger Ar for $550. I don*t think you can go wrong at that price.

Edit to add I just look at about 5 different websites for the model PSA is offering (8515). Looks like they are selling it at least $130 less than the next cheapest store I could find.

IWI Zion-15s are really well priced, especially for having a B5 Sopmod included. Plus, they are made in PA. Usually can find them under $700 with deal searching.

PSA all day long, I also have a Diamondback DB15 which has been flawless, street price can be starting around $700 and they have many models.

If you're still looking, check out Savage. Bought the Recon a couple years ago and it's really nice. My only complaint was the flip up sights were kinda garbage, but it came with them when so many others don't at all. When a friend of a friend had one for sale last year I snatched it up because it was a great deal. They can be had for around $900
