    With loss of an eye, the remaining eye is dominant. Experiment with distances mounted, with ease of finding the reticle or dot paramount. If there is cheek weld, it is less finicky. No cheek weld can lead to momentary search. minimize the search time.

    I saw a video once where Larry Vickers recommended mounting a red dot roughly centered over the mag well on an AR. Don't remember the reason though. So that's about where most of mine are mounted. Cause the internet said to!!

    IIRC it was both for balance and optimal field of view both through the optic and around the optic for him. FWIW I also have my red dot over the mag well
