    Default 7-08 rem loading questions

So last year I bought this rifle it*s a weatherby vanguard hunter with a 24* barrel. I*ve got a few hundred down range now approx 200-250 of some factory and mostly my reloads. I went to the range yesterday with some loads I made with Hornady sst 139gr I*ve had for years now and loaded them with H414 just to see. My normal loads I hunt with are same bullet nosier case and 42gr of imr4064 or Sierra gk 140gr nosier case and 41gr varget both with Fed210 at 2.81oal. For the most part I*m hitting 2850-2900fps out of my 24* tube but with the H414 loads yesterday at 50 degrees I had up to 3207fps. I made some up at 47,48,49 and 1 at 50 since book max was 49.5; I had zero pressure in any of them other than the primers being a touch flat*and I mean a touch. So the question is did I stumble on the magic of this powder or am I fooling myself because I haven*t blown my face off just yet? I also ask the question of at 3207 with a 140gr pill do I need a 7rem mag?
What experiences have you had with similar situations?

First, go back and verify your scale to be sure.
What book (year) has the 49.5gr max H414 in it? The online Hodgdon page lists the max 140gr boolit load of H414 as 46gr @ 2791fps. and 2.750" coal.
I've heard that vendors are reducing their values for one reason or another, could be better testing, different formulations, and of course temp sensitivities
    due to climate change.

The cooler weather yesterday would definitely run a summer load faster, depending on what temps you recorded your "normal" 2850-2900fps

The Hornady app you can download then pay like $20 for the latest version 11th edition. I was wrong it lists 49.9gr of H414 as max load. Scale is verified every time I use it. I did not get a reading for speed on the 48gr for some reason but 47 was 3076fps and 49 was 3155fps. I*m just assuming 3100-3150fps which is screaming for 7-08

I’m loading 7-48gr loads to verify the speed
