Default Spike's Tactical AR-9 Build! Colt Mags!

I'm left eye dominant and the colt mag lowers accept normal AR ambi mag releases plus I love the shape of the Spike's trigger guard. I also wanted the Foxtrot Mike upper for the forward charging handle. I'll be taking it to the range after work wednesday to figure out which spring to use with my kynshot buffer. What do you think?

Lower is Spike's Tactical colt mag lower, CMMG ambi mag release, Armaspec 45 degree selector, Thril RTG grip, FAB defense GL core stock, 32 round Duramags, Hiperfire EDT marksman trigger, and Kynshot hydraulic buffer.

Upper is Foxtrot Mike enhanced forward charger with Holosun 507C X2 on a UTG RMR 1/3 height mount. I hate the enormous muzzle device so I want to replace it soon but the barrel is 1/2x36 and everything I like is 1/2x28.

    I like it!
But I'm partial to guns on gravel, so...

And I'm diggin' the muzzle device too. I wonder if it's functional, or just for looks.
I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

Nice looking rifle. Is the charging handle reversible?

Yeah, the charging handle is reversible. Also, I emailed Foxtrot Mike about the folding charging handle and they can sell me one. Some of their uppers have them but none of the 16" carbine uppers I could find did.

I'm assuming the brake will help if for no other reason than the weight. It weighs more than double the 5/8x24 flash hider on my 7.62x39 AR.

I gotta say, a folding charging handle doesn*t seem very tactical.

In what way would a charging handle that folds down and stays out of the way when not in use not be beneficial?

Interesting, I*ve never seen a forward charging handle, but I like it! Reminiscent of the older HK G3 battle rifles. I*m assuming it takes a special BCG with a tab above the gas tube?

A charging handle should be grab and go, not unfold grab and go. Adding an unfold adds time and thereby defeats tactical.

Beneficial and tactical aren*t synonymous. What you have is good. Adding a folding handle detracts.

Of course, you aren*t building it for me...

I'll try it as is before I spend the money on something else. You're probably right that it might be slower.
