    Default MKE AP5-P review

Been in the market for a MP5k type gun for a while, really wanted to go with the HK but after checking out the MKE and doing some research I decided on the MKE for less than half the Price.

The MKE’s are a licensed copy and made on HK equipment in Turkey. They are a high quality firearm, fit, finish etc is excellent. Majority of HK parts are interchangeable as well.

First range trip was the day I picked it up, fired a variety of ammo from 115-147 without a hiccup, following day I filed the form 1 and when approval comes back I’ll be getting a HK PDW side folder.

If you’re on the fence about wanting a MP5 the MKE is a great option that won’t break the bank, and right now the prices aren’t bad, they came down where as HK has gone up.

I’ll post more pics and updates as I shoot it more.

I'm glad you've been successful. I've read of a few bad apples, and Century not being able to correct issues.

Good luck on finding a 3 or 4 position pictogram K housing. They seem to be becoming fairly scarce and pricey. The SEF's seem to be around though. More plug and play as you can use your entire existing trigger group.

I*ve seen a couple bad apples but majorly of everything I*ve seen has been good, if it was a century build I wouldn*t have even considered it, since their only the importer and MKE has a pretty good track record it was worth the chance.

I*m not changing the lower, just stock and vertical grip when form 1 comes back.

Yep, MKE Turkey manufactured, imported by Century. Overall, they seem good. It's probably like .01% that have issues. You always here about those though, usually not about all the good ones.

    Enjoy!

MKE Turkey manufactured, formerly imported by Zenith, first generation was top quality, second generation had bad quality control issues, business relationship dissolved.

Not sure what went on there as far as that goes, the one I got and others I*ve seen first hand all seem like quality guns. Time will tell.

This thing is way nicer to shoot than any blowback 9mm I shot, only the MPX comes close.

I have an older model by MKE as well as POF....love them but I don't get to shoot them as nearly as much as I would like to.

I may pick up the AP5 while the prices are what they are.
