    Default Post shooting podcast

In this link are 3 parts to a podcast called Post Incident Actions (as well as some other stuff)

    https://ccwsafe.podbean.com/

I recommend all 3 parts. It's all pretty basic... don't make a statement to police without consulting your lawyer, don't be holding the gun in an agressive way when cops arrive, render aid to the guy you shot if possible (your lawyer will thank you for that one)

But it's all laid out very well with lawyers and cops giving perspective. And it's all stuff that you really can't hear too much.

The 3 parts total around about 2 hours ish... I found them to be a good use of my drive time.

Render aid??? If I render any aid to a deserving perp, it's into the next world.

I agree. And even if I don't go that far, no way I'm risking getting close enough to them to hurt me. Not to mention, I'm not a doctor nor EMS, so they can wait for trained personnel to arrive. I will call 911 though.

Eta: there's a reason cops handcuff people they shoot, even if they think they're already dead.

If the threat is over (and I mean I REALLY believe the threat is over) I would render aid.

Even if it's as simple as applying pressure to the wound to prevent blood loss... it would be nice to be able to show up in court and be able to show you really didn't want him to die.

Even a left wing prosecutor will have a tough time proving you were a trigger happy monster if you make some attemot to save the guy.

Give the podcast a listen. They make a really compelling argument for it.

Now if I don't believe the area is safe...different story.

Nope, not doing it. I was trained to cuff people after shooting them (never had to do it since I worked in a small suburb) and I don't carry cuffs. What if you think they're incapacitated and while you're applying that bandage they stab you? Why would I risk that just to please a prosecutor?

I'd rather please the taxpayers who would have to foot all kinds of bills if the death-worthy perp survived.

That's what is (was?) great about this country, we don't have to agree on everything.

It really is great, isn't it?

The podcast makes a more compelling argument for the rendering aid thing. Or what to do to make the same point if you can't safely render aid. I found it interesting. Others may not. But to your point...'Merica!

I'll give it a listen when I'm done watching the woke NFL. I am always up for learning new viewpoints.

And yes it is still great no matter how much the Dems try to destroy it.
