I don't even try to buy a gun anymore unless I know I will available to pick it up the next day.

I build that into my schedule because I know I won't want to wait around the store for 6 hours.

You guys all suck. Last two pistols I bought I was approved instantly.

Same here. I have never had it take more than 10 mins to get approved. Do you guys put the last 4 of your SSN or leave it blank? Could be I am one of the few in PA with my last name though.

I never give any part of my SSN, but my last name is rather unique.

I don't have a common last name. The fastest has been 2 hours for me.

Lately for the people I do an ePICS on it has either been less than 2 minutes or it's a 30 minutes wait. And it doesn't matter if they are a first time buyer or a regular (other than the foreign nationals and they always take longer because the PSP has to check that they are here legally and I always get a call from an operator asking if they have the requisite PA hunting license)

IIRC, at one time, there was a paragraph in the statues that would allow the PSP to forgo a PICS check if the person was a holder of a LTCF but the PSP never implemented it (they want that PICS chec money too bad I guess).

I don't have a common last name and my last check took 19.7 hours.

I also had to go back the next day to pick up my LTCF for the same reason.

Yes, but they also have to check your mafia connections as well.

Picked up a new pistol last week. Check took less than 5 minutes. I do normally give the last 4 of my SS. Although I'm not really sure that makes any difference anyway
