OK, we all know by now that our LTCF comes up when they run our driver's license. Can popo truly claim to presume non-licensure during a traffic stop? My attorney would be on that like white on rice in a glass of milk on a paper plate in a snowstorm...

Is it in writing the magazines need to be unloaded? I was under the impression if they were stored in a separate container, with a flap, than the firearm it’s good to go. Is having the magazines unloaded just an extra precaution or do you feel it is legit the law?

I lived in MD for 43 years and this is accepted as fact that the mag has to be unloaded. I even had a range RSO threaten to call the cops on me for bringing a loaded mag into the range once. (Continental Arms in Timonium. This was not the only bad experience there. I cannot badmouth that place enough and never pass an opportunity to do so.)
Now is it correct? And written in law?
I have no idea. But it is so universally believed to be true that I am 100% certain you'd get arrested for it. You might beat the charge in court but I guarantee a cop would make the arrest thinking you had broken the law.
(Assuming no valid MD wear and carry permit)

So be it. I’m just quoting the statute. Failure to produce a valid LTCF at arrest or trial results in the presumption that a valid LTCF does not exist.
Their ability to look it up does not invalidate your obligation to present it for inspection when “legally requested”
ETA: this does not state failure to produce at a traffic stop. But since one thing often leads to another…. Being found to be in possession of a concealed handgun and refusing to produce LTCF to prove legal concealment will likely lead to the arrest situation which triggers the requirement in the statute.

From the links provided in the posts I*m coming up with it*s OK to leave your mags loaded as long as they*re in a separate compartment than the firearm. For example, pistol unloaded in a lockbox and loaded magazines zipped up in your baggage equals legal to transport.

Working from memory, it has been 40 some years since I first was informed of this, Maryland considers a gun is loaded if a magazine is loaded, regardless of whether the magazine is in the gun or not.
PA has the provision of being in a separate compartment.

MD AG said loaded magazines in a vehicle are legal circa 2010:

Yeah....I'd be inclined to not depend on something a long out of office AD said 11 years ago.
