Re: Are Pistol Caliber Carbines Useless?
I think the number of people put down with a Thompson, Uzi, Sten, MP5, etc would have something to say about this topic.

Re: Are Pistol Caliber Carbines Useless?
I started out with 16* 9mm*s years ago, now everything I have in a PCC is short with the exception of my 44 mag Henry. My personal opinion is 16* 9mm*s are good for range plinking and that*s about it.
If you are going to consider one for HD shorter is better, can add a suppressor and still be shorter than a 16*, and as with most pistol caliber carbines, pistols, SBR*s or whatever you like to call them you will not give up much by going shorter like you will with a rifle caliber. Very little velocity and accuracy is lost when comparing say a 8* vs 16* 9mm.

Re: Are Pistol Caliber Carbines Useless?
My scorpion is one of my most favorite range guns. It is what most people want to try and afterwards tell me they want one. When I take someone new to the range, it always comes with. My suggestion is to try one and you can decide for yourself.

Re: Are Pistol Caliber Carbines Useless?
They fill a niche, if you can afford a rifle (in rifle caliber) and a handgun, it is nice to have a PCC (preferably a short barreled ) as a PDW or handgun backup in the same caliber - full sized PCC is more for plinking and practice (which any inexpensive rifle to shoot would do), but they are fun. Mine is actually a 9mm AR style Glock mag 10" pistol with optic that sadly now is sans brace...

Re: Are Pistol Caliber Carbines Useless?
I presently have a Colt Police Positive and a Win 1892(rifle length barrel though), both in .32-20. They were my grandfather's and dad's, respectively.
Back in the early 1990's to mid 2000's I had a S&W 459 & Marlin Camp 9, and a 1911 & Marlin Camp 45 - each handgun/rifle combo used the same magazines. Of these 4 guns, I only have the 1911 today. ...I was really stupid for letting both Camp carbines go.RIP: SFN, 1861, twoeggsup, Lambo, jamesjo, JayBell, 32 Magnum, Pro2A, mrwildroot, dregan, Frenchy, Fragger, ungawa, Mtn Jack, Grapeshot, R.W.J., PennsyPlinker, Statkowski, Deanimator, roland, aubie515
