Hunting scope $300 or under
Just picked up a new Tikka 3006 for deer season and I’m looking to get some decent optics for $300 or under. What would you recommend?
Thanks, Isaac

Burris Fullfield 3-9
Leupold VX Freedom 3-9
Either one is great for the money.

Re: Hunting scope $300 or under
I agree on the Leupy. If I wanted a straight hunting scope & had a $300 budget, the Leupold VX-Freedom 3-9x40 is my only choice. I*m not a fan of Burris myself.

Riton makes a good optic for the money, and they're built like tanks. I have one on an AR10 and another on a Winchester .30-06.

VORTEX CROSSFIRE II 6-24X50MM AO DEAD-HOLD BDC RIFLESCOPE CF2-31045
That's what I put on my savage 110 and I really like it. I've only had it out to 500 yards but it's done really well.
The guys at Elk County Ammo & Arms are at 246 Brusselles St, St Marys, PA 15857. I had an awesome experience with them, and absolutely would shop there again. Customer service, price, and knowledge were all top notch.

Thanks for the replies! I think I’ll be going with the Leupold VX Freedom 3-9. I handled one at my local shop and it is very clear glass!

Vote for Burris. Droptine series 4.5-14x on my 30-06. The BDC marks are on out to 500 yards with the right load, and lifetime warranty. What's not to like?

I use Vortex now unless I find something slightly used or on a killer sale.

Re: Hunting scope $300 or under
I have the Vortex(s) mentioned above on Ruger Americans and I have a Leupold VX-Freedom 3-9x40 on a 788 Remington in 308. The glass on the Leupold, for that price point, is incredible. Power Vs better glass. In Penns Woods, the 3 to 9 is the winner for a hunting rifle. For reaching way out at paper or steel, Vortex is the choice in that price range.

After doing some research, I am definitely planning to get the VX Freedom 3-9. Very clear glass, definitely the best for the money…
