    Default Springfield Emissary

So, I'm not a 1911 guy for carry. I know, I know..............But I fondled a Springfield Emissary today at my shop and I really like it! Anyone own one? Any thoughts? It's really nice imo.................

^^^I get it at home and on here - lol. Still debating. I've never wanted to carry a 1911 - but this one felt really good. Ugh.

That's pretty nice. I think shorter slide looks good with shorter grip. If it was a bobbed shorter grip I'd carry it.

If I was going to get a Springfield 1911, it would be this one. And it is on my list.

    I'm a 1911 guy. Love them.

Have a GSG 1911 22 that I use for plinking and practical pistol. Also have a Kimber Custom 2 tone in 45. I carry it frequently. I actually carried it last night for church security. I shoot it better than any other gun I own. And under any type of cover garment, it disappears. I frequently wear a suit coat, so no issues

I was able to get a Springfield Range Officer Operator last year before it was discontinued and shortly before the Emissary was released. It looks very similar to the Emissary and I think it was the replacement for the Range Officer line. It is now in my rotation for IWB and I love it. It actually conceals better than my Glock 19 because of the slimmer profile. I hated the 1911 before because of the capacity and the weight until I got one of my own (first 1911). The weight and capacity honestly doesn’t bother me and I have realized why so many people love the 1911. The accuracy of the 1911 is impressive. There is nothing more patriotic than having a 1911 on your hip! ‘Merica!

I had the choice of the emissary, ronin and a garrison, the ronin was a 4.25 with aluminum frame. The emissary was really nice as well. I chose the Garrison just for a more classic look and liked the bluing. Had the ronin been a steel frame I would have chosen it.

Springfield has really improved upon their 1911’s, recently bought a 45 operator and the garrison and both so far are fantastic shooters.

You will not be disappointed if you go with the emissary.

I was set to buy one...until I held one. Grips were uncomfortable for me. I ended up with a Kimber Rapide Dawn. You will enjoy the Emissary if you like holding it
