Default Book Recommendation - Beginning to Carry

I have some friends (husband and wife) in TX that are thinking about carrying. They are new to guns, just bought some and are beginning to learn about them, get some training, etc. Even though TX is a constitutional carry state they plan on taking some CCW courses. I thought that it would be good for them to read some books on some of the considerations in carrying a gun. 'In the gravest extreme' by Ayoob comes to mind. Is this book still a good choice? It is a little dated. Any other recommendations would be welcome.

US Law Shield gives seminars that are around $10 to attend and they have a lot of them scheduled around TX, which is where they are from. I recommend going to one. Their seminars are like ads for their services and they try to get you to join up while you're there. They are a popular provider for carry insurance, something else you should recommend to them. We own guns in case we need them but if we use them to defend ourselves, we will need insurance afterwards.

Josh Prince also gives 'seminars' across the state for a nominal fee like $10 or something. I'm not sure where to find that list/schedule though.

    My recommendations:
Mas Ayoob's "In the Gravest Extreme" and "Deadly Force - Understanding your rights to self-defense."
    Dave Spaulding "Handgun Combatives"
    Gabe Suarez "The Combative Perspective"
    Gila May-Hayes "Effective Defense"
Jeff Cooper "Principles of Personal Defense"
Tom Givens "Concealed Carry Class - The ABCs of Self-Defense Tools and Tactics"
Tomorrow's battle is won during today's practice.
