Chuck has been my gunsmith for as long as I can remember. He's worked on lots of our guns, and lots of other peoples guns and I can't think of a bad thing to say about him.
It started with my first hunting rifle, which he fixed right up.
Then he replaced the firing pin in my dad's 22. When we got the gun back the bolt was re-blued and he replaced a missing screw.
He sporterized my Mauser by chopping & crowning the barrel, bending the bolt, and tapping it for scope mounts. It was excellent work.
He fixed my cousins shotgun
fixed the .22 AGAIN by adding metal to the rear of the bolt to correct headspace.
My brothers .22 is headed to him to get threaded for a supressor.
I just brought my buddys mauser down with a stuck bolt. While I waited he fixed the scope mount, installed shorter screws, polished the bolt & locking lugs, and replaced a small spring. Cost 10 bucks.
Chuck is also an FFL and does transfers for $20
Can't say enough about him. Great gunsmith.Last edited by P-11 shooter; November 14th, 2008 at 08:32 PM.

Re: Stewarts Custom Gunsmithing
Chuck just did a trigger job on my M&P. Did a hell of a job, charged much less than burwell or bowie, and it was ready the next day. I'm going to write a review and link to this thread if anyones is interested in his services.

Hey P11 you are spot on when your talking about chuck. Chuck has done and is in the process of doing things for me. Put a weaver combat trigger in my ruger357 gp100. Also ported my dads 270mag, and now he is re blueing my 7mm ruger. He does great work!

Re: Stewarts Custom Gunsmithing
I'm looking for someone to install a Powder River Precision kit on my XDm. Could he be the guy to do it for me?
How reasonable are his prices?
From what I understand its not a difficult trigger job install, but i know nothing about gunsmithing and i would get it apart and not know where all the peices go.

Chuck replaced my 1911 front sight with a fiber optic one that I chose. I shoot the gun a lot and the sight has never given me any problems. Chuck was fast, and didn't even charge me any labor; just parts only. He did it while I watched; the whole process took only about 20 minutes. I will be giving him more business soon.

Bumping this to see if there are any updates with his service. I'd like to get some bedding and done and maybe some other stuff.
