ATF Agent takes pics of all log book pages
an ATF auditor is recorded taking pictures with what seems to be a personnel cell phone of every page of the FFL's log books. She was using a app that digitized pages.

Why is this news to anyone? They changed the 4473 to make it easier to copy the firearm information along with the info of the buyer.

Re: ATF Agent takes pics of all log book pages
if you watch the video, she was angry that this shop didn't switch to digital records, she also threatened to revoke their license on the spot cause the wife asked if they could schedule the audit cause they had their kids at the shop, the agent did all of this in plain view of the customers, was taking the photos with a personal phone and called several customers in the books gun nuts based on their records. the owner said she also took offense when he told her he doesnt trust the government.
i get they changed it but this woman seems to have gone into this looking to cause problems.

Re: ATF Agent takes pics of all log book pages
The pages were all neatly typed or printed. Must they be that easy to read? Would hand-written in a doctor's prescription scrawl be legal?
There are two kinds of guns. Those I have acquired, and those I hope to.

Re: ATF Agent takes pics of all log book pages
I'm not an FFL, but I believe the photo documenting of the records is within their scope. Using her personal phone to do so and the casual threat of taking the license on the spot are HUGE issues.
It's tough to be critical of the FFL because it was an ambush and Monday morning quarterbacking is insulting, but I wonder if calling his attorney would have been at all helpful.
I'm guessing there's a way to file an official complaint (?).

Alzheimers Joe is doing anything he can to rid FFLs from being. One little mistake and puff, there goes your license.
And where are our champions of the 2nd amendment republicans?

Re: ATF Agent takes pics of all log book pages
How, exactly, do we know that this is her personal phone and not an agency issued phone?
At least, for her sake, I hope she isn't stupid enough to be using a personal phone to collect evidence in an enforcement action. I would imagine that, if the shop owner did file suit against her, or if they filed against the shop owner, that any information on the phone would be subject to discovery. At that point, all private texts, photos, etc. would also be fair game.Sed ego sum homo indomitus

Mr G&G talked directly with gun store owner. It was in fact a personal phone. 3:02 in the video.
