Phone call asking about guns in home
The educated (medical doctors, etc) administrators of a local hospital evidently think a sign saying no weapons will protect all present in the facilities. Education is a wonderful thing.
Wife was discharged from the hospital recently. Today a rep from the visiting nurse company called, preliminarily to setting up appointments.
"Are there any guns in the home?" Yes, fifty-nine of them. "Is that a joke?" No. "Well...are they secured?" Of course.
"OK. There have been incidents". OH? Like what? "We're just following protocol". I see, you can't verify that statement. OK, yes, my wife will be home today. "Thank you. Have a good day". You too.
They are engaging in their version of safety regarding guns, but fifty-nine of them does not thwart their goal of obtaining work in the home. Interesting. I was so tempted to ask, "Men patients have penises, have there been any rapes"?Last edited by Bang; July 20th, 2022 at 09:27 AM. Reason: sp

Re: Phone call asking about guns in home
Wasn't there a big hubbub recently about a home care company not allowing guns to be in the home of a patient?

Re: Phone call asking about guns in home
"Of course, there are firearms, knives, screwdrivers, hammers, and a baseball bat or two in my home. All are capable of being employed as self-defense tools should me or my family member's lives be threatened with death or serious injury. I would never allow a stranger into my home without having such tools available. I would surely hope to God that this is the same for you and your home?"
Pretty much my answer...Tomorrow's battle is won during today's practice.
