That's why Canik is practically as name brand on the US market while all the other Turkish pistol brands are virtually unknown even though the original TP 9 is an absolute piece of shit.
That may have been true 10 years ago, but the money for YouTube gun channels has dried up, even from the manufacturers in the last 4-5 years. Best you could get an offer for now is a T&E gun that you might be able to keep after the review.

Wouldn't that just mean that if a company wanted to do it now it would cost them significantly less than 10 years ago? And its obviously still happening today, that's how multiple youtube channels all happened to drop videos saying how great the Springfield Helion was on the exact same day.

Springfield gave out T&E guns for evaluation with a date the video could be released. If you release before that date it's a violation of contract and at minimum you get no more T&E guns. You could possibly be sued also. Now, if you run a channel, it behoves you to release the video on the initial date or you get no views. That's why you see releases of new product all around the same date.

As far incentives, it's less money and less incentive now. Most gun channels, rely on their Patreon or membership money for income now. Even the big guys get almost zero add revenue. It's more beneficial to be honest now, since it's your viewers and not the manufacturers or advertising that pays your bill. Recommending something that is a total pos could really hurt your channel more now. I've been a content creator for years with a small channel and I know some of the larger guys. There's very little shilling for pay in the gun community when it comes to reviews anymore, with a couple of large standouts. Cough, cough Hickok, cough.

I still can't think of a new gun that made the rounds with the big channels that any of them said was crap.

Isn't that the same as the gun mags? Don't remenber seeing any reviews in the big mags that said was crap. If the gun mags wanted firearm ads they had to like everything. I don't think much has changed concerning firearm reviews.

    Ah the gunrags

"The gun we tested had a series of catastrophic failures and cost us both hands and the use of our right eye, but the manufacturer assured us it was a case of industrial sabotage and wouldn't effect the production models. We couldn't recommend highly enough."

How many guns that have come out, reviewed by the big guys or anyone else has been total crap? Not you don't like it, but actually garbage? I've had one in 5 years of doing YouTube, I've seen other channels have others. Military arms channel has had issues with plenty and he's definitely in the "Big Guy" category. Honest Outlaw has as well. Look up the absolute shit turk shotguns coming in and you can find plenty of reviews that say they're shit.

For the record, the one shit pistol I had was an amscor/RIA m209 revolver. I know people on this forum that actually like them, but the one I had was total garbage.

The fact I had to Google that gun (never even heard of it) and it was only in production for 5 years, doesn't seem like it was shilled for really hard.

What YouTube channels promoted that, because I don't even remember anyone reviewing that one.
