    Cool SGL 205 Shotgun Range

My local SGL range (205) has a designated shotgun area where clays are allowed. I haven't been able to find specific rules for the shotgun range, but the rifle and pistol range rules are readily available. I know that there are no set targets and most people who shoot there use some kind of clay thrower for themselves.

My question is if I would be able to bring my own clay holder targets to set up on the range to shoot stationary clays and take them home when I'm done. Obviously this would likely be a bad idea when others are flying clays, but I would try to go when others aren't there.

Have you ever seen people set up clay holders at the range or done it yourself? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

I've personally never seen people using clay holders, but I'm usually at the rifle range, and I only go up a few times a year.

You saw they put up a new additional shotgun range there relatively recently, right? It's right behind the rifle range, has two weird giant metal boxes at roughly 15 and 30 yards. The game warden told me the last time I was there that they were for patterning shotguns. I don't think you're supposed to put clays on them, but I imagine you can hang paper targets from them.

I didn't know they put that up, I'll have to check it out next time I go. Thanks for the info, I think that's my solution
