I just find it ridiculous that fudds would think it is sporting to sit in a tree stand and be able to throw multiple (semi-auto) rounds at a deer. A hunter sucks at shooting if he can't drop a deer with one shot, or 2-3 with a limit.
I don't need a semi auto to kill a deer. Sometimes shit goes badly. If you make a poor shot you still need to kill that deer or it will be suffering for hours with a round in the guts. I think it would be more helpful to kids than anything. AR's are easily adjustable and would give a kid a real chance at a second shot. They are usually too awkward to pull it off. It's not a big deal to me other than it would be cool to hunt with my AR-10. Most of the deer I've killed have dropped with one or two shots. If I hunted with my AR it would be exactly the same. I don't think semi autos would effect the number of deer killed at all. The only thing I think you could argue being unethical is using a .223 for deer. I don't think it's an issue but there are way better rounds for deer. From what I understand, a .223 is still legal for deer in PA

However, it feels like there should be an even playing field for the game. For example, I think it's reasonable for there to be a 3-round (plug) requirement for shotties when hunting small game in PA.
but there is no mag restriction on semi auto rimfires rifles with small game.
