Kimber K6!!
Basically the same size and manual of arms of the SP101, but with 6 shots and probably the best factory DA revolver trigger I've encountered.
One will be coming to me once my Mom gives it up - for now it is her baby and choice over SP101, GP100, and Security-Six also in the stable.

Another vote for the Ruger Security six series or a S&W 19/66 size Kframe.
The GP100 and 686 are sweet, but overly heavy in my experience carrying them in the field.

Re: Need a 6 shot .357 for CC
I carry a S&W 649 the most of all my carry guns and love it. I have been trying to talk myself out of the .41 Magnum game (new titanium plates and hardware in right wrist) while window shopping for a Colt Python to replace the 657 I handled the Kimber K6S Combat both 3 and 4 inch and decided it will be my new wheel gun likely the 4" DASA, the fit and feel in my hand was phenomenal and have seen nothing but stellar reviews about it, unlike the Python although Colt seems to have worked the bugs out. it is quite thin and tuckable IWB.
I did just obtain a S&W M&P 45 sub compact with the Crimson Trace LG485 laser and for the time has benched the 649 as daily carry. the Kimber will be my woods/camp gun hence the exposed hammer

What you have is fine. Why change it?
You probably need to get some speed loaders and work on improving your marksmanship. That extra shot you'd get from a six shot would not matter much.
The SP101 is too big for the kind of carrying that I do. I use my SP101 for load development.
I can push a 158gr using a 357 case, Win231, and a 2 1/4 inch barrel at 1,000 feet per second. Minimal blast, push rather than snappy recoil. No pressure signs. I would love to do more work with it to get it just a bit more consistent.Last edited by GeneCC; September 26th, 2022 at 09:27 PM.

A 3" S&W Model 65 would fill the bill nicely - but good luck finding one and if you do, the price will be salty. A 3" barrel gives you an ejector rod long enough for a .357 case to fully clear the cylinder. Here is my 65-5...

Kimber K6S (in stock at Bud*s), Colt King Cobra (in stock at sportsman*s outdoor super store), some kind of used S&W revolver from Gun Broker.

Re: Need a 6 shot .357 for CC
Ruger makes a couple of 6-shot .32 Federal Magnums. My wife loves the feel and the pointability of her LCR 327. Currently seems to run around $630 or so. Maybe not quite the "bang" of a .357, but all things considered it's a winner in my book.
