Great reaction on the officers part. One less crazy in the world.

Amazing reaction time. Almost like he already had his gun drawn.

Only because the psycho didn*t put his car in park when he pulled up. The dash camera shows the couple seconds extra time that allowed the cop to react.

That extra second or two the perp took to stop again and put it in park gave the officer time assess the danger of the situation and to get ready for an attack. Those extra few moments made all the difference between life and death for the officer.

Absolutely. If that guy had jumped straight out of the car the cop would have been going to the hospital at best. The 2 clicks it took to stop a second time and get out wasn*t much, but it was all the difference.

Did the dead guy have a ballistic vest on? I watched the video a few times and it looked to me like they removed it or at least loosened it after they rolled him over on his front. It looked like they lifted the back panel up and looked under it, maybe looking for back wounds or exit wounds.

I thought it was a backpack.

Just watched it again. It was a backpack.

I'm not convinced the officer even saw the hatchet initially.
Looked more like he shot him because he was charging at him.

Unfortunately, I closed the tab with the "yew tube" video and when I tried watching again just now, it just buffers every 2 seconds, so I'm not dicking around waiting for it to load to watch it again.
