Speaking of dying, I wish the thought process that "women should get a revolver because (fill in the dumb reason here)." would die, die, DIE.

Because it's dumb, dumb, DUMB.

A snubby - yes, very dumb. But a Model 10, Model 60, or other medium frame revolver I don't think it's bad advice. No magazine to load, no slide to work, no magazine to make sure is fully inserted. Just open, put in rounds, close. Vice versa for clearing.

Some people just won't put in the time to learn an autoloader. And in the heat of the moment they'll think they have to rack the slide even though there is already a round chambered, and then do it slowly and cause a jam. Obviously guns are easy to operate with minimal training, but don't underestimate people... And it won't be lack of instruction, it would be lack of knowledge retention / caring.

Semi autos are too complex for people who don't give a fuck and won't put the time in. Women can definitely fall into that category.

My wife couldn't pull the hammer back, or pull the trigger easily enough on the revolvers she was told she needed to buy.
A Glock G19 was the answer that NO gun shop suggested.

All I know is that I liked the self loading pistols better since way back when my IQ was only 40. I'm a lazy fuck and I like guns that load themselves.

Getting women to NOT limp-wrist a semi-auto is difficult. It leads to loading malfunctions.
This is my EXPERIENCE.

Have your wife give your mother in law her firearm (that is likely "registered" in her name). Then you can give your wife any of your pistols. This will avoid having to explain anything if they ever run the gun and it comes up with your name.

The best option though is to bring your mother and law out and have her buy her own pistol. I would recommend a revolver since they are simpler to use. And bring her out a few times and show her how to shoot.

This makes sense. If the handgun registration skips a couple owners, they would be able to prosecute that because the last owner would be mil and the first would be you.
