Re: TAKE ACTION: Arm Teachers and Staff in PA Schools
A relative asked for donations to Everytown gofundme for her birthday. One of the major aims of Everytown is fighting against arming teachers. Well, not really fighting, because they don't do that. But they want laws against it. Because teachers aren't trained and may hurt their students, the gun mat be taken by a student, or the teacher may have to defend their students from a former student, and couldn't shoot at him. I know, all BS, but many people really believe all their BS.

Re: TAKE ACTION: Arm Teachers and Staff in PA Schools
Related to your point and a side note. At an in service day, we had local PD discuss live shooter drills. They mentioned at least 6 times that they were later going to fire some 9mm blanks in the hallway. Then the time came, and they mentioned about 3 more times what they were doing. Then like a one minute warning when they walked out in the hallway.
When the first shot was fired, I thought about 30% of the staff was going to either cry, urinate and/or defecate themselves, or have heart attacks or strokes. Many flinched uncontrollably. Repeat for rounds 2 and 3. The group I was sitting with just sat there with our arms crossed.

Re: TAKE ACTION: Arm Teachers and Staff in PA Schools
It's unclear from the article. Does the bill remove the decision from administrators and allow the individual teachers to decide for themselves?
I think there are already some school districts allowing teachers to be armed. Although I'm unaware of the outcome from the law suits against them.I am not a lawyer

The first order of business should be to stop recognizing teachers unions.

Re: TAKE ACTION: Arm Teachers and Staff in PA Schools
So the school admins don't need to approve the teacher? I'm asking because if the admins have to approve, then many districts will still be screwed.
Can you share the law that makes it illegal for teachers to be armed? I remember hearing about a lawsuit, but I couldn't find the law that makes it illegal.I am not a lawyer
