Default Bone head thing we did reloading.

Maybe sharing what we done dumb. Might help new loaders to know what to watch for.
Some i have done. Forgetting to adjust the seating stem after loading FP and going to RN. Seating stem again after loading 38 special. And going to 357. Now i do 357 1st. Not enough powder in .223 and 7.62x39. I load them on my turret with a auto drum powder drop. Powder cop die has saved me a few times since getting them. My other rifles i batch load. So i check powder levels when thier on my loading block. And have also forgot to turn the powder hopper off before removing and lost some powder.

Not seating the primer tube properly in my Dillon RL550B and playing 100 pickup when I try to fill it.

Taking a "pet" load off the net or another loader, loading up a bunch without testing a few first, and finding the load sucks.
Buying lead off a place like e-bay touted as Lyman #2 and finding it to be loaded with zinc.
Dropping a tumbler tub full of steel pins and realizing you need a decent magnet.
Getting "once" fired brass off any dubious source. Think the dubious sources use the metric system for "once" fired that equates to 6 times in the standard system.
Trusting loads you personally did not load.
Just off the top of my head but I'm sure I got more.
It ain't what they call you, it's what you answer to.

For picking stuff up, I use a cleaned out shop vac. Oops...this is the mistakes thread, not tips and tricks.

I got really lucky as I dont have a place to check and see how good they are.
So far they all went bang. Except a 50bmg squib.
I'm not in competition so I really have
not as high standards. As long as they're in a .5 grain or so I'm good with that.
I do have a sump pit in my basement, about 24" deep I'm thinking of filling with sand so I can test,
    functions of ar builds.

Have run out of powder in my 6 station 12ga reloader and loaded no powder then the wadding goes in and sinks to the bottom and you don't notice, then shot, then crimp and you can finally tell when the crimp goes to deep. Same thing with running out of shot. I need to add a counter to my reloader that tells me to check powder and shot after 50 shells. You're constantly looking down when reloading and hte containers are above you.

Powdered up five .338 WINMAGS that I hadn't primered yet. Even pressed a bullet into one of them before I realized it.
