Re: Philadelphia Flower Show
The Flower Show is being held outdoors located in FDR park, on the northern end of the park, just south of Pattison Avenue. It encompasses the Swedish History Museum, which apparently is still hosting weddings thru a separate entrance. I couldn*t see deep enough into the entrance to see if there are metal detectors, wanding or new fangled security.
The event is totally separate from the rest of the park, separated by a high fence and plastic water filled barricades. There appears to be numerous tents inside. There was a huge amount of people attending this afternoon. There is limited free parking, but an abundance across the street at the Novacare Complex. Looks like it is $22 for regular vehicles and $44 for oversized, whatever that is.
While the *Lakes* usually has a very diverse crowd, especially on weekends, there is not usually any major incidents. The surrounding neighborhood is old Packer Park, the Sports Complex and new development with houses going for $500,000 and up. It is one of the safest neighborhoods in Philadelphia.
While I don*t know if you can bring a firearm in, I would never recommend leaving one in a vehicle. If you are attending and getting off one of the expressways, parking and then getting back on the expressway, you shouldn*t have any problems.

Re: Philadelphia Flower Show
If youse were one of Krasner's kids which would you choose, a po black neighborhood where people are scraping to get by or a Flower Show where wealthy progressive white folk wearin' the high falutin' diamonds and baubles in an open air park where they have to park quite a distance to get their ride? Anywhere where in Philly where Krasner's kids can reach you, they will because they have the blessing of their glorious leader Let 'Em Go Larry. You already know that though.Corruption is the default behavior of government officials. JPC

"All visitors will be scanned using weapons detection technology prior to entering the Flower Show grounds."
Curious if they will use the newer Evolv system..............

"We have heavy metal scanners that scan for weapons, scan for anything. They work. They are the same ones they use down at Disney World," said Sam Lemheney, Chief of Shows and Events.

Re: Philadelphia Flower Show
I*ll ask again if you have seen the setup or have been in that area lately. Because you are basically wrong on almost everything.
While Krasner*s kids can take advantage if given the opportunity, that is not really the case down there. Most of the violent crime that I see does occur in poor black neighborhoods. Some crime of opportunity does occur like when gangs were robbing center city theater goers, but that is a total different layout.
Watching the crowd yesterday I didn*t see any so called *wealthy progressive white folk wearin' the high falutin' diamonds and baubles*. I did see a civilian coworker of mine with his wife and kids dressed in shorts and a T shirt attending, along with many similar people. Maybe you are thinking of an event on the mainline.
Also like I said, the event is fenced in, it is not open air in the entire park. And parking is across the street, while one may actually walk the equivalent of three or four block to get across the huge guarded parking lot to the entrance. And Pattison Avenue is lined with Traffic and other Overtime and straight time officers providing traffic and pedestrian control.
And again, the surrounding neighborhood is one of the safest in Philadelphia. So while Krasner*s kids can be a problem in Philadelphia, it most likely is not the case at the Flower Show. Your cause for alarm in this issue is misguided.

Re: Philadelphia Flower Show
Yeah well, good luck with all that. My days of going into the city for anything were over a couple of years ago. Like right after the white guy got murdered in the Rittenhouse Square neighborhood and Krasner let the kid off. The parking lot is guarded too. Last year my friend wanted to go to Philly to the Christmas Village and I refused saying it's too dangerous at this point. Then a few days a security guard at the Christmas Village got in an argument and murdered a visitor. When my friend found this she called me and we agreed we'd put Philly off the list of places to go.
Even if I had to defend myself from an attack from a Krasner Kid I'd be the one they'd go after. Good luck with the Flower show. I can ride right down the road and go to Longwood Gardens to see flowers. You should retire out here and stop having to look over your shoulder day in and day out.Last edited by JenniferG; June 17th, 2022 at 12:37 AM.
