Re: serial number on an %80 lower
True. But it sounded to me like the OP wanted the government to know about it.
I mean, I guess I could see having an identifying mark for "proof" of ownership if stolen, but you could just as easily put 3 dots of paint under the grip to "identify" it if it gets recovered.I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

Re: serial number on an %80 lower
Software is outdated and quirky. When I post I often get a message that I have to wait 25 seconds. I wait, repost, then sometimes get that weird error page. Go back, refresh and still get the 25 second wait warning. Go back to thread, then refresh and there it is! Often twice.

Not to mention, NYC cops are a breed apart! DEMONcrats with badges basically! They love stomping on rights, and HATE the thought of anyone but them having firearms. (NARCISSISTIC MUCH?) Nothing like PA suburb LEO.

Re: serial number on an %80 lower
its amazing that this bull shit thread won't die. never said I was a NYC cop. there are other agencies in NY state. why do you hate them so much? is it cause you can't carry in the big apple? a breed apart I could actually agree with. lost another Nypd friend to 9/11 cancer today. they are and always will be respected by me. RIP LT.

IDK, I hate to make blanket statements. I've had very little interaction with any LE in my life, but the few I did were professional and polite.
Now I once was acquainted with a former municipal cop, and knew people who had interactions with him that were less than, shall we say, ethical. But there are d-bags in every profession.
Side note. I see tbta02's rep status is 'braindead.'

Oh, I*m by no means ANTI LEO! Just going by statistics. NYC is number 1 for corruption through history. Of course, it*s also the largest, but the size does not completely compensate for the vast corruption through the decades. Of course there are very good officers there.

I can't let this thread die! NO NO NO!!!!!!
Going back aways in this thread this was posted:
None of the rule changes directly impose new requirements on non-licensees.
ETA: If HR7910 were to pass the Senate, all of this goes out the window. You WILL be required to serialize "ghost gun parts" and an FFL is required to do it. Not to mention assembling your disassembled firearm after cleaning it will be a felony unless you're an FFL. Insane.
Assembling your disassembled firearm after cleaning it will be a felony unless you're an FFL.
I have no issues with this at all. Here's my everyday carry. Nice patina and still shoots flawlessly!
