Toomey has just said expanded background checks are on the table in on-going discussions.

The problem is The democrats will never be satisfied with extended background checks. Or even red flag laws. They want semi auto and magazine bans.

Just heard a clip of Toomey saying he hopes Biden stays out of the gun control discussion because he has dug his heels in on the far left and is not helpful in finding a compromise

Toomey said there is already a law in place that requires background checks on most firearm sales and they could expand that to require background checks on all commercial sales.

To me that sounded like a specific and intentional insertion of the word “commercial”. I know it’s a long stretch of the imagination, but is it possible that Toomey is using semantics and word salads to convince democrats to agree on keeping the status quo?
