haha what? Just keep the silencer locked up in some form of container that only you have the key or combination to and you're good legally.

They’re trying to scare you into buying a trust.

    Get a trust here for $79: https://199trust.com/

    They're good to go.

Thanks, I’ll look into this before I make a decision to return. Quick look through that link shows a trust not being a bad idea.

It used to be more advantageous when the ATF rules were different, but in the present it is a way to possibly share your NFA items, a definite way to spell out the transfer of ownership of your NFA item when you depart this life to be re-born as a moth or something, and you can brag to all your friends you have an NFA trust.

💯 correct! I just called them again today and got a different person. This lady said the same thing as the first guy that they only efile for a TRUST. I asked her what if I don’t want a trust and she asked me what state I was in and then put me on hold. When she came back she said I could transfer to a local FFL of my choice or purchase a trust off of them for $85.

Bottom line here is their website is very misleading and you have to pressure them to get other options. I’m going to think about this over night and then move forward tomorrow.

1- Do I purchase their trust?
2- have it transferred to a local FFL?

I also don’t like the 10% restocking fee for an item that never left the shelf.

Title II firearms transfer tax free on a form 5 when you pass. One reason why I do my transfers as an individual. Unless you really want to lend/share NFA things, a trust is pointless post 41f rule change.

This comment helps a lot. It’s just me and my fiancé here. She has zero interest in borrowing my suppressor and I support her decision in its entirety 🤣
