Default Two is One and One is None

You'll hear that phrase a lot when you're among preppers. It's something to be taken seriously because if you only have one of something, if it breaks, now you no longer have it. So it's a good idea to have a backup. We take it to heart here, and we have a lot of redundancy build into our preps. Today, I took it a step further.

I now have a back up generator to our back up generator.

It was simply too good of a deal to pass up, 7550W with electric start. It does need a new battery, but it starts right up on the first pull.

If you don't currently have a generator, it's a buyer's market, because all the formerly panicked grasshoppers are selling them because Covid is over.

Good deal. I have my main generator that's 10k that powers the whole house. However if that ever has a problem, I have a 3500 that can power just the fridge and deep freeze to prevent food from spoiling, and provide some light in the house. I think I paid $150 for the little one on some sale. Parents and a friend have borrowed the little one on occasion to keep their fridges and freezers running in power loss when I was on my main generator. So it's also handy to have a good one, and one that you can loan out.

Sweet! That's the same generator that I have. I also need a new battery, but I've never had a problem with it. Powers the whole house, minus the hot water heater and the baseboard heaters. If I shut everything else down, it will even run the hot water heater.

How'd you score that and what was the price, if I can be nosy?

I have a couple small generators.

I don't drink much beer but if the case of MGD runs out due to supply issues, I have a backup case of Blue Moon.
Like Streaker, I also have a back up to the backup. Yeungling.

Helped a neighbor 30-some years ago assemble his. Well, he helped some. Mostly watched. Got to play with it some after assembly, and my impression was it was too light in weight (too little mass) to do any serious earthmoving, but for a couple with a hobby greenhouse and landscaping business it would load pickups and small dumps just fine, and decent for clearing snow one bucket at a time. The backhoe was useless in shale or dense clay soil.
