I'd more suspect the yeast or the rising time. But I'm definitely not a bread expert.

What did you grind it with? Too course of a grind may prevent rising properly.

Between living in arid Utah in the 19th century and the reasons for them going there, they were and are quite the preppers. 4patriots and one of the other companies (Ready Hour, I think) making food with a 25 year shelf life, are also based in Utah.

Oh, they're huge into the food business.

As for as the various "god groups" go, Morons generally have a lot going for them. Big believers in self-reliance and preparation for bad shit.

I knew a Mormon and the church required them to store food and be self reliant. The Mormon food is the way to go.

I had a Mormon friend when I lived in OH back in the 70s. He showed me their food and water stockpile. It was complete with firearms.

Our preferred rice is Jasmine. Its aromatic and cooks up real well. Basmati is good , but it has a dryer texture to it. Add come coconut milk to it when cooking and it completely changes the flavor...excellent.

The only thing we froze for a week at a time was the 25lb bags of flour. Any bugs or larvae would be killed. Add a couple 02 absorbers and you are good to go.

    Its pretty straight forward.
We recently sealed 100 pounds of flour and sugar in 'zipper' type mylar bags with O2 absorbers. Should we have put them in the freezer for a week first before storing at ambient temperature? Can that be done with the O2 absorbers already in the bags?

We have several larger bags of sugar, which were not refrigerated or did we use 02 in them. I simply put them in a mylar bag, sealed most of the top shut but kept a small slot open to put a vacuum thin nozzle to suck out air...once it was super tight I used a hair straightening iron to seal shut. Good for years. Same with flour...but put them in freezer for a week, once they were sealed shut.

This food shortage is going to gain steam as these corrupt mother fuckers keep pushing their green agenda on farmers...even though some of the largest financial firms have pretty much given up on the green/ESG move.

If you haven't been stocking up on the basics that you eat and have a good assortment of recipes which allow you to use those items, in different ways, giving you a good source of nutrition and not suffering from food fatigue...you are being short sighted. Its not rocket science...and paralysis via over analysis, isn't going to serve you well.

This forum is a great medium for asking questions and getting answers. There isn't just one right answer...but many different ways to do the same thing. Food and water will be the next huge fight...as we see the ongoing destruction of food processing facilities, manufacturing plants, farms, the elimination of fertilizers...all of this is going to reach a tipping point. Doing nothing to help yourself is lame...unless you think others are going to be generous with their stash, which is highly unlikely.

You could survive on rice and beans alone...a good part of Latin and Central America does it every day.
