Default Need Help With AR Pistol Build in 300blk

I was over a friends house last week and handled his AR pistol in 300blk and decided that I want one. I don’t know much about AR’s in 300blk and what parts I would need etc. ill start with what I do know that I want and that is the following…

Geissele trigger but not sure which one. that’s what my friend has and I loved it but their website has a few others so I’m open to one of them as well.

Things I’m not sure of are the lower, upper and barrel and bolt carrier group. I don’t want to spend a ton of money I just want a reliable “truck gun”

    Maxim defense brace.

I’ll be needing advice on a decent red dot or holographic site as well as a hand guard.

This is an easy one- .300blk barrel. Everything else is the same.

I like Aero Precision. It's a good mix of quality and price.

I'm aiming to build a 300 Blk pistol this year and will use an Aero Precision upper and lower.

Classic Firearms has some good prices and often sales on both.

If you like slick side uppers have a look at AT3 Tactical's Spear combo. I have a couple of them am very happy with the fit and finish. Faxon makes a quality barrel as does Ballistic Advantage. The BCG is the same as 5.56..

As stated above, the only difference between a .223/5.56 AR and a .300 BO AR is the barrel. It's that simple. The hard part is deciding what upper, lower, trigger, forearm, buttstock or brace, size of magazines, and accessories to get.

You are the reason “post new thread” anxiety exists 🤣 I had a feeling it wouldn’t be that bad but I’m still going to need help with which manufactures to go with.

Thanks for the link. I’m only seeing 8”, 10.5” barrels… 8” is kind of too small unless I add a suppressor down the road.

    Thoughts?

Sorry, I didn't mean to cause any anxiety. My bad for being so uninformative.

There's a lot of folks that poo poo 300blk cartridge, like expensive, boutique, niche, a solution to a problem that doesn't exist and so on.

I like to get into the ballistics of a cartridge. I have a 10.5 inch .300 & while I think it's pretty cool how it sounds suppressed with sub-sonic ammunition, to me at the end of the day, I'm not going on clandestine search & destroy/hostage rescue type shit. In my humble opinion subsonic anything is basically a pistol cartridge. On the other hand super-sonic .300 hits hard in a short barrel, and makes more sense to me than .223/5.56

If you've got the itch for top tier- Sig makes the "Rattler-Canebrake" with a 5.5" barrel, Q makes the Honey Badger, & Daniel Defense makes the "Ghetto Blaster" both with really short barrels, and really fast twist rates.

I converted my 7.5" inch 5.56 Black Rain Ordnance pistol using to a 10.5" (1in8 twist) Ballistic Advantage barrel, but I'd be just as happy building one with Anderson upper/lower. CMMG makes a great lower parts kit, and I'd be happy with just about any hand rail that I didn't have to friggin clock with a barrel nut that requires shims.
