Medical Marijuana and Driving in PA

I know a kid that had a bad accident about 10 years ago. 100% sober at time of accident BUT had THC in his system from almost a week before. Did 6 months for driving impaired even thought it was a week before.

True. The problem is you could have smoked yesterday or a week ago. Which gives a lot of reasonable doubt. If you’re baked out of your mind, then yea, throw the book at them. Have a friend who’s wife has bad anxiety and ptsd. She has a medical card. She does not drive when she is smoking, or has smoked that day.

Likewise, it is incredibly uncommon for people on other medications to be charged for driving impaired. I specifically remember a non-complaint diabetic who passed out at a red light. A week later he drifted into a guard rail. Both times sugar was in the floor because he was so irresponsible he took to much insulin, or he didn*t eat.

Trooper wasn*t sure how to charge him when I bitched he was going to kill someone. I said I wasn*t a cop, but he is driving under the influence of a controlled, prescription substance, which he clearly was not taking as rxed, or we wouldn*t be there, so I would think a DUI was appropriate.

Also responded several times to a Wendy*s in an area with multiple restaurants and fast food places in both directions for several miles in both directions. Damned diabetics would always wait to try and get to the Wendy*s and then wreck in the drive through. Usually someone else was in the car who was more sober & could have driven.

One problem is, revenue. .gov taxes the hell out of everything it gets its grubby hands on.
Now the black market is bigger than ever.
Are we still paying 18-20% tax for booze/beer/wine? yep

I'm good with sin taxes.

And if (when) recreational use herb is passed then that will generate additional sin tax revenue, which I'm ok with.

Johnstown should be nothing but mansions by now with all the tax money from Alcohol sales.
