Right. So why bother arguing? Just call the cops and show them your video.

We did at one point, they said it was a civil matter and not a "crime". We could sue them, but they weren't getting involved.

Sure seems like trespassing to me.

We were both in the army. I had 6 years, he was in a bit longer. We were both artillery so we all had short fuses for dumb sh$%. It's unfortunate this happened. Yes this was a private dumpster and this one guy kept dumping trash into it. As for the other two, they were jaw jacking, and they did it to the wrong person and he thumped their skulls. Thanks for all the input. I really appreciate it.

Sounds like he deserves a couple of years in the klink to me. Good luck.

For simple assault I doubt it. I could be wrong as I've never dealt with misdemeanors. 2 years is max. It is what it is. "If he dies, he dies"

While it wouldn't make him a prohibited person, he will certainly never see a LTCF in his future. Any Sheriff would look at his background check and say "Nope!". But it really sounds like, of all the people that shouldn't have a gun, this guy would be on that list.

Exactly. The character/reputation edict will alert any sheriff in any county, certainly not getting a ltcf. But I still think he should speak with attorney, pay the fee and have him/her check to make sure he hasn't triggered any bans.

I said deserves a few years, not that he would be sentenced for it.

Hell, these days I wouldn't be surprised if the court thanks him for being an out of control anger freak and awards him a few hundred bucks.

Were it up to me, I would give the max on each charge and have sentences run consecutively.

On that note, I think sentences should ALWAYS run consecutively, otherwise it's like getting a free pass.
