    Default Marking your AR

When you folks are in a group setting, at the range or a group shoot, do you use any method of marking your rifles to tell them apart at a glance? If several AR's for example are stacked in a rack, can you spot yours with out checking serial numbers? I'm thinking of putting a small white dot on the bottom of the stock. I think it would stand out in a crowd when stacked and not be very visible otherwise.

No, never had this issue, but if I noticed other ARs of identical build at a group shoot I would certainly make a note of my serial number just to keep confusion to a minimum. Maybe slap a piece of masking tape somewhere on the rifle to differentiate them.

Another reason to BUILD your AR15 vs buying one that looks the same as everyone else's.

That said, I have a system in place for identifying the various CALIBERS within my own group of guns.
If I need to grab one in a hurry, I don't want to have to think about what I'm reaching for to be sure I have the correct mags for it.
    Anything basic black is .556
Anything with red accents is 9mm
Anything with anything "brown" (be it the sling, handguard, whatever) is 7.62x39
(I have yet to do anything to mark my 22LR, but I know it by the "bb gun" red dot that's on it.

My 2 AR builds are pretty distinct, so even if I was shooting with a group of people, I doubt Id run into someone with something so similar theyd get lost in the crowd.

All of mine are set up for me to shoot left-handed. Granted it is not a big difference but it enough for me to notice.

Put a bayonet on it, that should single it out from the others.
